KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director general to appear in the court in the case pertaining to out-of-turn promotions in the department.
The SHC bench was hearing a petition filed by Malik Altaf who had submitted that as many as 50 officers were awarded out-of-turn promotions. Besides, he said that blue-eyed persons of others departments were also working on deputations in the FIA.
The court was requested to declare out-of-turn promotions null and void and send officers working of deputations to their parent departments.
On Tuesday’s hearing, the court expressed its displeasure when it learned that FIA director general did not appear before it despite its directives. The bench directed the FIA director general to appear before it to inform what steps were taken in this regard.
