SHC suspends verdict of CAT in SCRA filed against Unilever Pakistan

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) customs appellate bench suspended the verdict of Customs Appellate Tribinal (CAT) while hearing a Special Customs Reference Application (SCRA) filed by Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigations (DIT) against Unilever Pakistan.

According to details, the case pertains to clearance of BELSIL UL 630 MS under PCT Heading 3910.0000 declared as primary silicon. The DIT blocked the consignments at Gat Out stage.

The Customs Appellate Tribunal hearing appeals filed by the importer as well as clearing agent set aside the Order in Original (ONO) and allowed release against which the instant SCRA was filed.

The SHC bench after going through the questions of law involved directeded issuance of notices to the respondents for a date to be fixed by the office of the court while suspending verdict of the tribunal.
