KARACHI: An appellate bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Yousuf Ali Sayeed ordered that two Special Customs Reference Application (SCRA’s) including one filed by PTCL be tagged for hearing along with a leading/main constitution petition CP-D 863 of 2015. The SCRA’s involved an alleged evasion of Rupees 261,815,200.

According to details, the applicants imported telecommunication equipment and filed Goods Declaration. The consignment was out of charge when the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations intervened and withheld the same while a notice was issued on 12-7-2013 under section 26 of Customs Act 1969. It was alleged that PTCL in connivance with Huawei International Singapore and their  local contact Huawei Technologies Pakistan Limited attempted to evade duty on telecom equipment, hardware, software spare parts by suppressing the actual value of these goods including 100 LTE, BTSS.
