FAISALABAD. Sheikh Community is rendering laudable services for the welfare of down trodden and in this connection Sheikh Foundation has laid down a comprehensive network of social welfare services, said Sheikh Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Speaker National Assembly.
Addressing the annual family diner of Sheikh Foundation here late last night, he said that Sheikh Community has always played a leading role in the social sector while Mian Muhammad Idrees has provided a system to make these services more effective and target oriented under the banner of Sheikh Foundation. He termed Sheikh Foundation as a plant that will give cool and comfort to many destitute belong to the Sheikh community.”Similarly Mian Muhammad Idrees will also enjoy the blessing of Allah beause of his services in this and the world hereafter.
Mian Muhammad Idrees president Sheikh Foundation said that this Foundation has been serving sheikh community for the last 9 years. He told that 2062 children belonging to the 972 deserving families are getting educational scholarships on monthly or annual basis.
Similarly, Sheikh Community also provided free medical treatment to 1140 patients. He told that the Sheikh Foundation has also doled out interest free loan of Rs. 22.5 Million to deserving people to start their own businesses. He said that it is actually a revolving fund and on the recovery of this fund, the same amount is provided to other needy persons.
Similarly, 207 lawyers belonging to Sheikh Community are also offering free legal aid to the needy individuals belonging to this community. Mian Muhammad Idrees said that the members of Sheikh Foundation have now jumped to 4000 and we are planning to extend more educational facilities in addition to arranging the marriages of 200 girls belonging to this community during this year. He said that he is also working to set up various wings of Sheikh Foundation to deal with special sectors.
The provincial minister Sheikh Allaud Din, Members National Assembly Mian Abdul Manan, Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, Haji Muhammad Ikram Insari, Chairmen FDA Sheikh Ijaz Ahmad, Deputy Mayor Sheikh Muhammad Yousaf and members of Sheikh Community also attended this annual dinner along with their families.
