Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three CPO Hamburg, Kamila Koan and BW GDF Suez Brussel carrying Containers, Chemicals and LNG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak terminal and Engro Elenggy Terminal respectivley on Monday.

While three more ships, APL New Yorrk, Malhari and Torm Ismini with Containers, Chemicals and Diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

A total of seven ships were occupying PQA berths to load/offload  Containers, Cement, Coal, Chemicals, Canola Seeds and Palm Oil  respectively.

Out of them, four ships, CPO Hamburg, Tiger Glory, Kamila Kosan and BW GDF Suez Brussel are expected to sail on Tuesday in the afternoon resepctively. Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 152,568 tonnes,  comprising 124,178 tonnes imports cargo and 28,390 tonnes export  cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,000 Containers (TEUs,) (1,200 TEUs imports and 800 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port. Four ships, APL New York, Maersk Seletar, MR Pegasus and Torm Ismini carrying Containers, Palm Oil and Diesel Oil are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Tuesday.

While Bulk cargo carrier “Red Fin’ and General Cargo carrier “Globe Rose’ are due to arrive at Port Qasim the same day, and three more ships, MOL Gateway, Xia Men Ze Ping and Gaslog Saratatoga carrying Contnainers, General Cargo and LNG are due to arrive on Wednesday.

Three containers ships, Tucape, As Aries and As Aries and Maersk Brooklying are due to arrive on Thursday.
