Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: C.V Seamax Darien carrying Containers was allotted berth at Qasim International Container Terminal on Tuesday. While a chemicals carrier GSW adventure’ also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim Tuesday morning.

A total of five ships were occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers,f coal, Soya Bean Seeds and Phosphoric Acid respectively.

Out of them, four ships namely Thor Madoc, Snow Ploeg, Marlin-V and Seamax Darien sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.

Cargo handling remained modest at the Port on Monday where a cargo volume of 73,711 tonnes comprising 60,867 tonnes imports cargo and 12,844 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,932 Containers (TEUs), (1,256 TEUs imports and 676 TEUs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.

Seven ships, MSC Pina, Maersk Chicago, Equinox Dawn, GSW Adventure, Globe Rose, Marangas Coronis and White Purl carrying Containers, Coal, Chemicals, General Cargo, LNG and LPG are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-4, MW-1, MW-2, PGPCL and EVTL respectively on Tuesday. White ‘Los Angeles Trader’ with Containers is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
