Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Seven ships named CPO Bremen, Maersk Atlanta, IVS Bosch Hoek, Coral Gem, Pyxis Ocean, Chemroad Lily and VMT Bamzi carrying Containers, Coal. Soya been, Chemicals and Furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Engro Vopok Terminal and FOTCO oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

A total of ten ships were occupied berths at PAQ to load/offload Containers, Coal, Steel coil, Soya Bean, Chemicals, Palm kernel and Furnace oil respectively. Out of them a general cargo carrier ‘Xin Yi Hai-55 , sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, and a container vessel GH Zephyr is expected to sail on the same day in the afternoon.

A cargo volume at 141,247 tonnes, comprising 108,909 tonnes imports cargo and 32,338 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,834 Containers (TEUs), (3.134 TEUs imports and 1,702 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Two ships MOL Generosity and LNG Express carrying Containers and LNG Express carrying Containers and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT and PGPCL respectively on Wednesday while two more container vessels MOL Courage and Hansa Africa are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
