Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships CMA CGM Amazon, MSC Atlanta, Bunga Akasia and Khor Gas carrying containers, palm oil LPG were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

Meanwhile another ship Maersk Semarang with Containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.  Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 53% on Monday where a total of eight ships namely CMA CGM Amazon, Maersk Atlanta, Da Kang, Ocean Vander, Golden Trader, Khor Gas, Bunga Akasia and Sea Dance are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, General Cargo, Coal, Soya Bean, LPG, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 133,733 tonnes, comprising 118,801 tonnes import cargo and 14,972 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,426 containers TEUs) 2,638 imports TUEs & 788 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.  LPG carrier Khor Gas sailed out to sea Wednesday morning, while Containers ships Maersk Atlanta and oil tanker Sea Dance are expected to sail on same afternoon.

Three ships Maersk Semarang, Suez Canal and Shalamar carrying Containers and Furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT and FOTCO respectively on Wednesday, while two more ships C.V Priority, M.V Aal Bangkok with Container and Project Cargo are due to arrive at PQ on Thursday.
