Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships C.V Northern Monument, C.V MSC Pina, C.V UASC Al-Khor and M.T Sea Delta carrying containers and Chemicals were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.  Meanwhile two more ships Trade UN and BBC Maine carrying Canola Seeds and Project Cargo also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was reported at the port at 53% on Tuesday where a total of eight ships namely, Northern Monument, MSC Pina, UASC Al-Khor, Saratov, Ikan Senyur, Bottiglieri Ambition, Sea Delta and Bneider are currently occupying berth to load/offload Containers, Coal, Canola Seeds, Chemicals and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.  Cargo throughput during last 24 hours, stood at 147,883 tonnes, comprising 135,267 tonnes import cargo and 12,616 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,679 Containers (TUEs), 4,015 imports TUEs and 664 TUES exports) was handled at the port.

Three ships M.V Ikan Senyur, M.T Sea Delta and C.V MSC Pina sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship C.V Norther Monument is expected to sail on same day.  Three ships C.V Maersk Stockholm, C.V MSC Valencia and M.V BBC Maine carrying Containers and Project Cargo are expected to take berths at QICT and MW-1 respectively on Wednesday, while M.V Calimero is due to arrive at PQ on Thursday.
