KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port where three ships C.V Maersk Stockholm, C.V MSC Valencia and M.V BBC Maine carrying Containers and Project cargo were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi-purpose Terminal respectively on Wednesday, 5th April-2017.
Meanwhile two more ships Mataquito and Formosa Falcon with Containers and 50,835 tonnes Diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was reported at the Port at fifty three on Wednesday where a total of eight ships namely, Maersk Stockholm, MSC Valencia, Nort hern Monument, UASC Al-Khor, BBC Maine, Saratov, Bottiglieri Ambition and Bneider were occupied PQA berth to load/offload Containers, Project cargo, Coal, Canola seeds, and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.Cargo handling remained during last 24 hour where a volume of 116,085 tonnes, comprising 97,515 tonnes import cargo and 18,570 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,854 Containers (TEUs) 1,878 imports TUEs & 976 TUEs exports) handled at the Port.
Two ships, container vessel MSC Valencia and Oil tanker Bneider sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships Saratov, UASC Al-Khor and BBC Maine are expected to sail on same day.
Three ships C.V Mataquito, M.T Adele Marine Rizzo and M.V Aeo Los carrying Containers, 67994 tonnes furnace oil and 40,000 tonnes Coal are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Multi-Purpose Terminal respectively on Thursday 6th April, while M.V Calimero is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and C.V Torrente and C.V Maersk Izmir are due to arrive on Friday, 7th April-2017.
