KARACHI: Oil tanker M.T Naxos carrying 68,313 tonnes furnace oil was allotted berth at FOTCO Oil Terminal of Port Qasim on Wednesday.
While three more ships C.V Suez Canal, M.T Pavino Spirlt and M.T BW Yang Tze with containers, furnace oil and desel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of the port during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 50 percent on Wednesday where a total of nine ships including Northern Magnum, MSC Al-Ghero, Eternal Trump, Wsh Way, Da De White Purl, Star Trader, Genuine Galaxy and New Naxos were occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, dredger, general cargo, LPG, soya bean seeds, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 103,528 tonnes, comprising 55,899 tonnes import cargo and 47,629 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,332 containers TEUs, (237 imports TEUs & 2,095 TEUs exports) was handied at the port during the last 24 hours.
Container Vessels Northern Magnum and MSC Al-Ghero sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while another edible oil carrier Genuine Galaxy was expected to sail the same day.
Four ships C.V Susz Canal, M.V Nautical Alice, M.T Bunga Alamanda and M.T Umm Bab carrying containers, coal, palm oil, and LNG were expected to take berths at QICT, MW-4 LCT and EETL respectively on Thursday, while container vessels CCNI Arauco and Hugo Schulte are due to arrive at Port Qsim on Friday.
