Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: M.V Friendly Sea carrying 52,578 tonnes Coal was allotted berth at Port Qasim Electric Power Terminal on Wednesday, September 06 2017.

Meanwhile four more ships—M.V Core Fortune, M.V Thor Friendship, M.T PVT Athena and M.T King Craft—with Coal, Steel coil, Furnace oil and LPG also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at 41% on Wednesday where a total of seven ships namely, MSC Heidi, Northern Movement, Sen Treasure, Friendly Sea, Seqa Joy, North Gas and Pavino Spirit were occupied PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Steel Coil, Coal, Rape Seeds, LPG and Furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.  A cargo volume of 137,993 tonnes, comprising 97,656 tonnes import cargo and 40,337 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,432 Containers (TEUs), 309 TEUs imports and 2,123 TEUs exports was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Three ships C.V MSC Heidi, M.V Sen Treasure and M.T Pavino Spirit were expected to sail on Wednesday afternoon.

Five ships C.V Priority, M.V Star Mistral, M.V Core Fortune, M.T Ginga Kite and M.T Stavanger Bliss carrying Containers, Talc, Coal, Chemicals and Furnace oil were expected to take berths at QICT, MW-1, PIBT, EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Thursday, September 07, while Gas carrier ‘M Gas’ was due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and Container vessel Teno, Yuan Jing, Hansa America and LNG carrrier Gaslog Seattle are due to arrive on Friday, September 08, 2017.
