Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port where five ships, X-Press Kailash, MSC Maeva, E.R France, Al-Sheehaniya and Lion-M carrying Containers, 142,454 CBM LNG and 67,060 tonnes Furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively, on Monday, 23rd October-2017.

Meanwhile two more ships with Containers and Chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was reported at the Port at 71% on Monday where a total of twelve ships namely, X-Press Kailash, MSC Maeva, E.R. France, Thor Insuvi, Ocean Prefect, Yasa IIhan, W Pacific, Lady Amna, Al-Sheehaniya, Gas Esco, Gina Marlin and Lion-M are currently occupying berth to load/offload Containers, Cement, Coal, Soya bean seeds, LNG, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A record cargo handling was achieved at the Port on Monday where a cargo volume of 188,040 tonnes, comprising 149,881 tonnes import cargo and 38,159 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,345 Containers TEUs, 1,816 TEUs imports and 1,529 TEUs exports was handled during last 24 hours.

Three ships, E.R. France, W Pacific and Ginga Marlin sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships MSC Maeva and X-Press Kailash are expected to sail on same day.

Five ships, MSC AL-Ghero, Maersk Columbus, Chemrood Nava, YM Miranda and Kenta carrying Containers, Palm oil, Chemicals and Soya bean seeds are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, FVTL and FAP respectively on Tuesday.
