Shipping at activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships C.V MSC Asya, C.V Xpress Kailsh and M.V Leopold Staff carrying containers and project cargo were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile five more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and stell product also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 67% on Sunday where a total of ten berths were engaged by ships namely C.V MSC Asya, C.V Xpress Kailash, C.V Safmarine Nyssa, M.V Leopold Staff, M.V Pine-6, M.V Patricia-V, M.T Bochem Ghent, M.T Argent Cosmos and M.T Al-Soor-II to load/offload containers, cement, sunflowers seeds, project cargo, chemicals, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours. A cargo volume of 98,239 tonnes, comprising 73,007 tonnes import cargo and 25,232 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,341 containers TEUs)(1,013 imports TUEs & 1,328 TUEs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours. Three ships, container vessel Xpress Kailsha, edible oil carrier Argent Cosmos and Oil tanker Al-Soor-II sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while three more ships Leopold Staff, Zhen Hua-21 and Bochem Ghent are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Five ships C.V MSC Bilbao, C.V Al-Safat, M.T Bunga Akasa, M.T Sea Chraming carrying containers, palm oil furnace oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Monday.
