SHKP raises interim dividend by 10.5% after 9.8% jump in core profit

HONG KONG: Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) raised its interim dividend by 10.5 per cent after reporting an increase in core earnings for the six months to December.

The company declared an interim dividend of HK$1.05 a share on Friday, up from 95 HK cents a year earlier.

Underlying profit , excluding revaluation gains on investment properties, rose 9.8 per cent to HK$9.29 billion because of higher property sales in Hong Kong.

Turnover rose 8.7 per cent to HK$32.9 billion.

Net profit dropped 6.3 per cent to HK$14.7 billion because of a smaller revaluation gain on investment properties.

SHKP shares rose 2.8 per cent to close at HK$88 before the results announcement.
