Shoaib Khan assumes charge as special judge Customs Court Peshawar

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Law and Justice has notified charge assumption of Shoaib Khan as Special Judge Customs, Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Court, Peshawar

His charge assumption was notified by the ministry in the recent week after his appointment on the said designation.

It is pertinent to mention here that Ministry of Law and Justice had also made some other appointments in recent months including appointment of three judges at different regional offices of Customs Appellate Tribunal since start of year 2017.

According to details, Aaqil Hassan Chohan was appointed as special judge at tribunal’s Lahore office; Muhammad Saleem was appointed as Member Technical at tribunal’s Peshawar office; and Shoaib Khan was appointed as Member Technical as Peshawar office too.  The ministry had notified their appointments in recent month of January and February.

Their appointments were made in exercise of powers conferred by sub section 2 of section 194 of Customs Act, 1969, for the period of three years, the notification stated.

The notifications had been delivered to the several offices of state including the Cabinet division, Establishment division, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Customs Appellate Tribunal and others.

Before these appointments, the ministry had appointed Dr Syed Muhammad Anwar as Judicial Member, Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad.

The Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had approved all said appointments after reviewing the summaries forwarded by the ministry in this regard.
