Customs Exports issues short recovery notice against Textile Plus Corporation

KARACHI: The Special Recovery Cell (SRC) of Model Customs Collectorate-MCC Exports has issued short recovery notice against Textile Plus Corporation.

Assistant Collector, Special Recovery Cell (SRC) Dr Jam Muhammad Imran has issued short recovery notice amounting to Rs76,4844 in addition with penalty of Rs50,000 against M/s Textile Plus Corporation. In the recovery notice, it was stated that an amount of government dues amounting to Rs76,4,844 along with penalty of Rs50,000 and leviable surcharge is being still in pending against the proprietor of Textile Plus Corporation, Muhammad Shakir. The recovery proceedings have been initiated under Section 202 of the Customs Act, 1969 read with recovery Rules, 2001.

In the recovery notice, it has directed to the proprietor of Textile Plus Corporation to pay the aforementioned defaulting amount in seven (7) days from the receipt of this notice positively in order to avoid further legal proceedings against the defaulter.

It may be mentioned here that the Special Recovery Cell (SRC) of MCC-Exports while following the directives of Collector Manzoor Memon has issued recovery and bank account attachment notices against the defaulters on daily basis in order to recover the non-payment amount.

The MCC-Exports have already received millions of rupees recovery in connection with the issuance of recovery notices against the defaulters. The sources informed Customs Today that such kind of exercise in term of recovering bed-debts amounts in share of duty/taxes has not yet implemented before at the Collectorate level.
