Sialkot ASO confiscates smuggled items worth Rs 13m in July, 2015

SIALKOT: The Model Custom Collectorate Sialkot’s Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has seized smuggled goods worth more than Rs 13 million during July 2015.

According to the detail, the ASO has seized a loader truck of Afghan Transit Trade loaded with imported fabric, mobile phones and accessories worth Rs 10 million near GT Road, River Chanab, Sialkot.

Sources told Customs Today that on the instruction of Custom Collector Dr. Zulifqar Ali Chaudhary and Deputy Collector Asdaq Afzal ASO team conducted raid to foil the smuggling bid in the region. They added that confiscated items were smuggled from Wana.

Meanwhile, the ASO also seized 880 bags of plastic granules worth Rs 3 million in a raid near Sambrial, Sialkot

The sources said the Customs Intelligence has lodged an FIR against accused for further investigation.

The raid was conducted by customs intelligence team consisting of inspectors and other officials following the instructions of Customs Collector Dr. Zulifqar Ali Ch, Additional Collector Khawja Naeem Khuram, Palwasha Saeed and, Superintendents Irfan.
