Sialkot ASO impounds Toyota Prado worth Rs 1.5m

SIALKOT: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Prado worth Rs 1.5 million.

Reportedly, ASO Incharge Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Chaudhary set up a blockade along with his team on Grand Trunk (GT) Road and checked various vehicles.

Meanwhile, the team intercepted a vehicle Toyota Prado bearing Registration No LEA-09-4824 and asked the owner named Haji Aslam to show documents regarding the customs clearance but he failed to do the same.

Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle under the customs laws, but released the owner after necessary interrogation. The assistant collector said that the vehicle will be released if its owner paid leviable duty/taxes along with fine within the granted time.

If he failed to pay taxes, the case will be sent to the adjudication for further legal action.
