Sialkot ASO seizes non-duty paid cigarettes

SIALKOT: Assistant Collector Chaudhary Mohammad Hanif of the Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) along with his team visited different zones to check anti-smuggling measures.

The ASO team, during checking of vehicles, intercepted a Toyota van and recovered smuggled Pine, Dunhil, More cigarettes worth Rs 100,000.

When the team asked the driver, who was identified as Muhammad Riaz, about documents regarding legal possession of  cigarettes. The  driver failed to provide any relevant documents regarding the cigarettes. Upon his failure, the ASO team seized the cigarettes and registered a case of smuggling against the accused person.

The ASO team after registering the case forwarded the case to customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
