Sialkot ASO seizes smuggled cigarettes during road checking

SIALKOT: Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized smuggled cigarettes at GT Road.

Sources informed Customs Today that assistant collector Fahad Bashir Chaudhary formed a team to thwarted smuggling attempts at GT Road.

ASO team under the supervision of inspector Sheikh Ikram checked various vehicles which were coming from Rawalpindi.

During checking process ASO team recovered 27,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes. The seized cigarettes brands includes, Dunhill, Benson & Heduges, Pine and other brands.

The ASO team asked the driver of the vehicle to produce legal documents regarding possession of cigarettes. Upon his failure ASO team seized the cigarettes and registered a case.

The ASO team forwarded the case to customs adjudication for further proceedings.
