The said inspector along with his team started checking of vehicles when the team intercepted a van, which was coming from Mirpur (AJK) and going to Mandi Bahauddin, that led to the recovery of Indian origin cumin seeds and black pepper.

The team asked driver named Shafi about booking documents of recovered items but he could not produce the same. The driver revealed that the said items were loaded by a manager of bus stand in Mirpur.

Therefore, the officials confiscated the items under the customs laws, but released the driver after proper interrogation. The customs also served notice on manager of Mirpur Bus Stand and referred the case to adjudication for further legal action.

The ASO officials said that the seized items will be auctioned if the adjudication decided the case in favour of the customs department.
