SIALKOT: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Zone-I has confiscated Indian origin cumin seeds and cloth worth Rs 100,000 from Sialkot-Wazirabad Road.
Following the directions of Collector Ahmed Reza Khan, all the three zones of ASO are working round the clock to curb smuggling and strengthening the anti-smuggling campaign launched by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
As per details, ASO Zone-I incharge Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Choudhary deputed Inspector Amjad on Sialkot-Wazirabad Road to check vehicles and curb smuggling. The said inspector along with his team started checking of vehicles where a van was intercepted bearing Registration No MRA-2389 which coming from Mirpur (AJK).
The officials checked van and recovered Indian origin cumin seeds and cloth worth Rs 100,000. The team asked driver Malik Aziz about booking documents of confiscated items but he could not produce the same.
The driver told that the confiscated items were booked from General Bus Stand Mirpur and he has no further information. Therefore, the recovered items were confiscated under the customs laws.
