Sialkot ASO seizes smuggled irons, juices worth Rs 1.1m

SIALKOT: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has confiscated 400 units of cloth iron and 102 crates of Rani Juice worth Rs 1.1 million.

Following information, ASO incharge Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Choudhary deployed Inspector Sheikh Ikram and his team on Grand Trunk (GT) Road to check vehicles and curb smuggling attempt.

The team established check post near Kamoke Toll Plaza and intercepted a Toyota van going to Gujranwala from Lahore and recovered 400 units of cloth iron. In another action, the officials stopped another vehicle and recovered 102 crates of Rani Juice.

The officials confiscated the items after the drivers failed to show documents regarding legal import of the items. However, the drivers were released after initial interrogation.
