Sialkot Custom decides to appoint ASO staff on bus stands, railway stations

SIALKOT: Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Model Customs Collectorate, Sialkot has decided to appoint the ASO staff on general buss  stands of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Narowal, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahawaldin and Wazirabad and Railway Stations Gujranwala of Sialkot, Gujrat, Wazirabad, Hafizabad, Narowal and Lala Musa to curb Smuggling.

Customs official told Customs Today that that Sialkot Customs is achieving better result on GT Road to curb smuggling under Kashmir, Afghan, Iran and China Transit Trade. He said that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has hailed the performance of ASO of Sialkot Customs while the ASO is giving better result day by day. Sources said that the ASO staff will watch and check the activities of smugglers on buss stands and railway stations while the staff will authorize to check the luggage of suspect person.

Sources told that the buss stands and railway stations are gate way of smuggling and the department decided to launch crackdown against smugglers through buss stands and railway Stations under the ani-smuggling campaign which was started by FBR. Sources told that the ASO working under the supervision of Collector Ahmed Reza Khan whereas the Incharge of ASO Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Choudhary.

Sources told  that the ASO don’t spare any smugglers while staff refuse any recommendation of any authority when the staff recover and confiscate any smuggled item or impound any non-customs paid vehicle. Superintendent of ASO wing Sardar Manzoor told that the said planning is under consideration and paper work is continue while after the completion of paper work the process will start soon.
