SIALKOT: The Model Customs Collectorate collected Rs 15 million on imported consignments during May of the current fiscal year.
Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Choudhary told Customs Today that various consignment, including scrap, leather, iron, plastic; vehicles, etc were imported through Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) and Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) from various countries.
He said that the customs officials after reviewing the filed documents and examining the consignments imposed import duty, which has been fixed by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and collected it from the importers.
He said that the Sialkot Customs collected Rs 15 million from importers during May, adding that rate of duty/taxes was imposed according to law.
