SIALKOT: The Customs authorities held an auction of used officials cars and collected Rs 2 million here the other day.
Assistant Collector Auction Department Chaudhary Muhammad Hanif told Customs Today that vehicles which were offered for auction include Cultus, Mehran, Toyota etc. He said that seven vehicles were presented for auction. He said that these vehicles were being used officially from five to seven years. Now customs authorities decided to auction these vehicles because these vehicles cannot being used by officials.
He said that customs team which supevised the auction adopted a transparent procedure for auction. He said customs department hold auction of seized goods and vehicles to generate revenue.
