Sialkot Customs impounds non-duty paid truck, auto parts at Kamokey Check Post

SIALKOT: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Gujranwala team impounded a non-customs paid mini Ford truck and confiscated smuggled Japanese auto parts worth Rs3,00,000 during vehicle checking at Kamokey Check Post on other day.

Sources told Customs Today that Superintendent Muhammad Rauf Farooqi formed a team under the supervision of Deputy Director Ali Zeb Khan and intelligence officer/Inspector Nasar Ullah to check vehicles on Kamokey Check Post.

However the said IO along with his team member Constables Usama, Mubashir, Sajid Raza and Boota started checking of vehicles. The team intercepted a Ford truck bearing registration number LWN-1672 model 1974 and recovered smuggled Japanese auto parts of vehicles. The team asked driver about customs clearing documents of auto parts but driver Rashed was failed to produce documents regarding possession of Ford truck. The team impounded truck and confiscated auto parts worth Rs3,00,000 whereas the duty of auto parts is Rs.5,00,000.

The vehicle was coming from Lahore and heading towards Rawalpindi. The team after registering a case refer the case to Customs Adjudication.
