Sialkot Customs Intelligence impounds Toyota Hilux Surf worth Rs2m

SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has impounded non-customs paid Toyota Hilux Surf worth Rs2 million at Sambrial on Sialkot Road.

Under the strict directions of Deputy Director Ali Zeb Khan the Assistant Director Itrat Hussian ordered Superintendent Tariq Rafique to constitute a team to check vehicles at above mentioned road.

On this he constituted a team under the supervision of Inspector Saad Iqbal Sidhu to check the vehicles on the road. Saad Iqbal along with his team members constables Usama, Mubashir, Sajid Raz and Boota  started checking of vehicles and intercepted a Toyota Hilux Surf bearing registration number KW-304 ICT model 2004 which was coming from Islamabad and going to Sialkot.

The team asked driver Noor about duty-paid documents of the vehicle but he failed to produce the said documents. The driver told the team I don’t know about customs duty paid documents while the owner of the vehicle knows better about documents.

The team impounded the vehicle and released driver after proper interrogation whereas the team has challaned of driver and will issue legal notice to owner of vehicle. The team shifted the vehicle in the Compound of department office at Gujranwala. The intelligence official has registered a case and team will forward case before the Adjudication court for proceeding.

If the court will announce judgment in the favor of department the department authorize to auction of said vehicle as per customs laws and customs Act 1969.
