Sialkot Customs invites cellular companies to take part in auction of mobile phones

SIALKOT: The Customs Collectorate has invited representatives of cellular companies to take part in auction of cell phones.

Sources told Customs Today that the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Customs Preventive staff has seized various branded cell phones during vehicles checking and from Sialkot airport. The seizure of cell phones were also declared as legal by the Customs Adjudication after legal proceedings.

Now Customs Sialkot authorities are presenting these cell phones for public auction. It is necessary to mention here that these mobiles phones were not offered for auction due to strict criteria.

Customs authorities also asked some cellular companies to obtain IMEI number from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority because without registration of IMEI sale of cell phones is prohibited.
