Sialkot District Council approves Rs1.47b tax-free budget

SIALKOT: The Sialkot District Council unanimously approved its Rs1.47billion tax-free budget for fiscal year 2017-2018 during its important budget session held on Tuesday.

Chairperson Hina Arshad Warraich presided over the session.

Later, she told the House that District Council Sialkot has allocated Rs1.15billion (79 percent of this total budget) for different social welfare and development schemes besides allocating Rs163million for the salaries of the district council’s employees, Rs14million for repair of district council’s offices and other buildings and Rs150million for repair and reconstruction of roads in Sialkot district.

Later, Chairperson Hina Arshad Warraich told the newsmen that it is a tax-free budget as no new tax has been imposed or the ratio of any existing tax has been increased.
