Sialkot Excise plans to impound token tax defaulter vehicles

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has launched crackdown against token tax defaulter and unregistered vehicles in the region.

Excise District Officer Muzaffar Qayyum told Customs Today that the department has launched crackdown against vehicles running on roads without number plates and payment of taxes.

He said that people purchased vehicles by paying millions of rupees but reluctant to pay the tax, adding that department has now decided to tighten noose around the tax evaders.

He further said that teams have been made to conduct general hold up during which offender vehicles will be impounded. He added that impounded vehicles will not be released until the payment of outstanding taxes.
