Sialkot Excise seals 352 properties, impounds 288 vehicles

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has sealed 325 residential houses, hotels, workshops, plazas on non-payment of taxes whereas it has impounded 288 token tax defaulter vehicles during January-February of the current fiscal year.

Sialkot District Officer of Excise and Taxation Muzaffar Qayyum told Customs Today that the department achieved 70 percent target against fixed target during the first two months of the year 2016.

He said the department collected Rs 3 million as professional tax and this tax has been deposited to national exchequer. He said department will achieve annual target, as the officials of department were working day and night for achieving it.

It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab Excise Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal has issued written orders to directors of nine division of Punjab to meet the revenue target before the end of fiscal year.
