Sialkot Excise starts campaign against property, token tax defaulters

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has started a campaign against property and token tax defaulters and sealed 321 properties as well as impounded 237 vehicles.

Sources informed Customs Today that Gujranwala Division Director Excise Rao Shakeelur Rehman constituted special teams which sealed properties of defaulters. The teams of motor branch checked about 2,000 vehicles and impounded 237 vehicles which were plying on road without payment of token tax.

It is also learnt that about 9,000 vehicles of Chief Minister Punjab Green Transport Scheme are plying on roads without payment of token tax and the Excise Department has also started action against these vehicles. District Officer (Excise and Taxation) Muzaffar Qayyum said that the operation against defaulters will continue until June 30, 2016.
