Sialkot exporters to launch private airline within two weeks

SIALKOT: The Sialkot exporters have now announced to launch their own private airline after establishing Sialkot International Airport on self-help basis.

Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Fazal Jillani said that the Sialkot exporters’ own private airline namely “Sialkot International Airline” would be formally launched within the next two weeks under the joint supervision of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL).

The SCCI president added that all the legal requirements and necessary arrangements have been finalized to run this airline. He said that establishment of this airline was a mega project after the mega project of establishing Sialkot International Airport by the Sialkot exporters and industrialists on self-help basis.

Fazal Jillani added that the trendy Sialkot’s business community besides exceptional achievements in business had ever played a model role towards the social sector. In this regard, it had initiated number of projects on self-help basis like Sialkot Dry Port Trust, Sialkot International Airport, country’s second Export Processing Zone, Sports Industries Development Centre, Sialkot Tannery Zone and Sialkot Business and Commerce Centre to name a few.

He gave detailed briefing on Sialkot’s unique export culture and Sialkot’s marvelous socio-economic development on self help basis by Sialkot business community,

President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Fazal Jillani revealed that the export-oriented Sialkot city has successfully followed the examples of Japan, Germany, Korea, Taiwan and other countries in development of SME culture in Sialkot, as the Sialkot based SMEs have been producing only exportable items and enjoy special status in the international market for its products.

SCCI President said the exporters of Sialkot are the “Roaming Ambassadors of Pakistan”, who travel all around the world to fetch business and with their personal efforts, the export earnings of Sialkot stand at $ 1.8 billion annually. He highly hailed the unique export culture of Sialkot.
