Sialkot exporters should come forward to explore trade markets of Nepal: Envoy

SIALKOT: Ambassador of Nepal in Pakistan Ms. Sewa Lamsal has asked the Sialkot exporters to come forward and explore the untapped international trade markets of Nepal to promote the strengthened bilateral trade between Pakistan and Nepal.

She said that Nepal was very keen to enhance the mutual bilateral trade ties with Pakistan, besides, finding out trade, tourism and business opportunities with Pakistan and setting up several joint ventures in different trade fields in Pakistan.

She stated this while addressing an important meeting of the surgical instruments manufactures and exporters held at Surgical Instruments Manufacturers and Exporters Association of Pakistan (SIMAP) here today. Pakistan Surgical Industry’s Leader Muhammad Jehangir Bajwa and Chairman SIMAP Khalil Ur Rehman Mughal jointly presided over the meeting.

Nepalese Ambassador vowed to make all out sincere efforts to boost mutual trade ties between Pakistan and Nepal, saying that the time was ripe to further strengthen these mutual trade ties. She said that both of the countries have been enjoying the cordial trade relations.  She also pledged full support to Sialkot exporters to ensure the easy access of Pakistan business community to international Nepalese trade markets.

Nepalese Ambassador Ms. Sewa Lamsal agreed with surgical exporters’ proposal regarding the regular exchange of updated trade information and mutual trade delegations to enhance the trade between the two countries.

Pakistan Surgical Industry’ Leader Muhammad Jehangir Bajwa that Sialkot-made surgical instruments could find a good market in Nepal. The main hurdle is direct link between business communities of both countries. There is lack of communication and proper marketing.

Jehangir Bajwa added that the most of the European countries including USA, Germany, Italy, France etc were exporting importing Sialkot-Pakistan made surgical instruments for re-sale purposes.

Chairman SIMAP Khalil Ur Rehman Mughal said that Nepal should also focus on the direct import of the Sialkot-made surgical instruments direct from Sialkot-Pakistan instead of purchasing these surgical instruments from European countries on very high prices.

Jehangir Bajwa added that Sialkot exporters have a great potential to explore and capture the international trade markets of Nepal by exporting their world class traditional and non-traditional export products. For improving bilateral trade, Sialkot exporters suggested that exchange of trade delegations and one-to-one meetings of businessmen of both sides may be arranged.

Ambassador of Nepal in Pakistan Ms. Sewa Lamsal said that there were bright opportunities of setting up joint ventures with Sialkot-Pakistan business community in different trade fields, as the several Nepalese companies were showing keen interest, in this regard.

Earlier, the Nepalese Envoy also visited the several leading surgical instruments manufacturing units in Sialkot here today. She took keen interest in production processes of surgical instruments as well…#
