Sialkot, Gujranwala RTOs plan to recovers Rs 5b from defaulters

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Offices (RTOs), Gujranwala and Sialkot have decided to take action against 300 marriage halls, 100 furnaces, 150 shopping plazas and markets in order to recover Rs 5 billion in wake of taxes.

Source told that the FBR ordered the RTOs to speed up the efforts for recovering taxes from the defaulters, besides directing to take stern action against the owners of the said marriage halls, furnaces and shopping plazas.

They said that chief commissioners of both regions also instructed the subordinates to issue notices to the tax defaulter owners, adding that the department will take action against non-compliance under Section 140 of tax laws.

The FBR will also get help of Pakistan Army and Rangers as well as police to recover taxes from the non-taxpayers.
