Sialkot, Gujranwala RTOs start monitoring of 500 marriage halls

SIALKOT: The Regional Tax Offices of Sialkot and Gujranwala Region have started secret monitoring of marriage halls, while the RTOs officials have already seized record of four marriage halls.

According to sources, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed RTOs to collect five percent withholding tax from the owners of marriage halls against earning of per function.

Sources said that the FBR chairman has already warned that any any owner of marriage hall who will not pay 5 percent withholding tax of per function will have to face tough action.

Sources said Gujranwala Region has constituted four teams and Sialkot Region formed five teams for secret monitoring of marriage halls. Sources said that teams of Gujranwala and Sialkot Regions are conducting secret monitoring of over 500 marriage halls.

Sources also said that the teams of Gujranwala Region have confiscated the record of four marriage halls which includes Morven Palace, Shahnai Marriage Hall, Ahsan Palace and Bandhan Marriage Hall because these marriage halls earned huge amount recently but their owners were paying very low tax instead of real tax.
