SIALKOT: The Regional Tax Office has received 126 returns under Voluntary Tax Amnesty Scheme and collected Rs 12.888 billion.
Official sources told Customs Today that earlier February 29, 2016 was fixed as the last date for submission of tax returns under the VTAS . Sources said that only 38 returns were received until February 29 and then the government decided to extend the date on the demand of traders and tax bar associations until March 15, 2016 and only 88 returns received after the date of extension.
Sources said that as the last date for filing of tax returns is approaching fast under VTAS. The field staff of the RTOs is struggling and guiding traders to avail the benefits of the scheme.
