Sialkot RTO collects Rs 32 billion in March

SIALKOT: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs 32.33 billion under the head of duty/taxes during March of the current fiscal year.

The RTO office generated Rs 11 billion as income tax, Rs 10 billion as sales tax and Rs 11.33 billion in wake of withholding tax during the said period.

Meanwhile, the Sialkot RTO received 325 returns under Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) up to March 31, 2016 involving Rs 30.329 million, whereas the FBR has extended the deadline until April 30, 2016 to facilitate the traders

Officials said that the RTO has achieved target of bringing the new taxpayers into tax net, adding that no new return was received after March 31 so far. They also added that traders should tax benefits from extending deadline of tax amnesty scheme.
