SIALKOT: Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) of Sialkot and Gujranwala Region issued notices to 2800 owners of vehicles and properties for evading taxes in 6 districts including Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahawal Din, Hafizabad and Narowal.
Sources told Customs Today that following the direction of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), RTOs have issued notices to politicians, bureaucrats, office bearers of Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other people, who are avoiding paying taxes wilfully.
Sources said that RTO has also asked the owners of vehicles, factories, godowns and marriage halls to explain their source of income and investment in high value properties.
The department has issued the recovery notices to the vehicle and properties owners, asking them to clear their dues within a week. After this, the department will take strict against the non-taxpayers.
