Sindh Excise collects Rs 12.3m as property tax

KARACHI: The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has recovered Rs 12.3 million in the wake of property tax during the month of May.

A Sind Excise official told Customs Today that the said collection has surpassed the previous month’s figures. It is necessary to mention here that the Sindh collected property tax of Rs 9.2 million during the month of April.

Sindh Excise and taxation Secretary Ahmed Bakhush Narejo said that the credit of collection of huge amount of property tax goes to survey teams and other staff members who tried their best to achieve the collection target.

He further said that on the strict action against defaulters and after sealing the property of defaulters the evaders submitted their tax on priority basis. In this fiscal year many evaders submitted their tax whose did not submit single peny in the wake of property tax.

Secretary excise said as per end of this fiscal year Sindh excise will audit of the department and make a report about collection.
