Sindh Excise minister says process of receiving job applications completed

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that the process of receiving job applications is completed.

“A committee has been formed to scrutinize documents so that the eligible candidates may be called for tests and interviews and all appointments will be made on merit only,” he said while presiding over a meeting at his office in Karachi.

Secretary ET and NC Abdul Haleem Shaikh and Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui also attended the meeting.

He said, “The cases of appointment under deceased quota had been processed as per laid down procedure and appointments were made with the approval of the competent authority in grade 01 to grade 11 in such cases.”

Chawla expressed his satisfaction that the record of motor vehicle tax and professional tax had been fully computerized and beside Karachi all Divisional Headquarters of the province were also facilitated computerization for registration of vehicles and the entire computerization system was being upgraded on need basis.

The meeting was informed that during 2016-17 (up to February 2017) as many 39,296 cars and 255 buses were registered in Karachi only.
