Sindh Excise recovers 30kg charas

KARACHI: The Excise Department Sindh has recovered 30 kilogram charas and arrested a suspect.

According to the official statement, on the directives of Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla checking was enhanced on Sindh borders. As a result of this vigilance many cases of drug smuggling have been detected in recent days.

In a similar move, an Excise Department team, led by Excise officers Hussain Bux Larik and Siraj Ahmed Samito, on a tipoff, searched a car at Sindh-Punjab border Kamboo Shaheed check post and recovered 30 kilogram charas and arrested an accused Ghulam Sher Pathan.

The department lodged a case against the accused, who is resident of Naushehra. The car is impounded as well. The further investigations are underway.

The provincial minister has directed the officers, assigned on Sindh borders check posts, to enhance vigilance and take all available resources to curb smuggling and not to let any smuggled goods enter into Sindh.
