Sindh Excise recovers 990-litre liquor

KARACHI: A team of Excise and Taxation Department led by AETO Sohail Abbas raided a liquor-making plant at Lal Shah Chowk Ibrahim Hyderi and recovered 990-litre liquor and arrested an accused Aziz Shah.

The raid was conducted during an ongoing drive across province against manufacturing and sale of illicit liquor.

The action was taken on the directives of Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation and Narcotics Mukesh Kumar Chawla, said a statement on Friday. The minister has directed the officers concerned to speed up campaign against manufacturing and sale of illicit liquor and bring all of them to task who were found involved in this heinous crime. An FIR has been lodged against accused Aziz Shah and further investigation is underway.
