Sindh Excise recovers sales tax from two factories, school

KARACHI: The Excise and Taxation Department has collected Rs 480,000 under the head of sales tax recently.

Incharge of propety tax survey team Shabbir Soomro told Customs Today that the department issued notices to two factories and a school, asking them to clear pending tax amount until April 20. He said that the factories and school failed to submit tax returns from the past three years.

He said in response to these notices, M/s Usman Aluminium Works deposited Rs 175,000 and M/s Akram Hosiery paid Rs 125,000 under the head of sales tax. Al-Mukhtar Secondary School also cleared the pending tax amount of Rs 180,000.

Shabbir Soomro said that due to ongoing campaign against tax defaulters, most defaulters are trying to clear their pending tax amount.
