KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Gayan Chand Israni said that strict action will start against vehicles having fancy number plates just before Ramazan.
Excise Inspector Mohammad Suleman while talking to Customs Today said that the excise minister at a recent meeting had given a go-ahead to the department to take action against all vehicles having fancy number plates. The campaign will start from June 8 in the first phase, in which heavy fines will be imposed on the owners vehicles having such numbers plates. They said that in the second phase of the campaign, all such vehicles will be impounded.
Mohammad Suleman further said that the department was planning to start the campaign during the month of May to enhance its revenue resources, but due to some unavoidable circumstances, the campaign could not be started.
