The 23-year-old was on Tuesday seen carrying a parcel containing SEDs into a storage facility in Geylang. Officers from both the HSA and ICA then raided the unit and seized the SEDs, which were intended for resale in Geylang.

The HSA and ICA warned that such SEDs often contain undeclared potent medicinal ingredients and other substances controlled under the Poisons Act, which can cause serious adverse reactions.

It is an offence to import, sell or possess for sale such products containing these substances. Anyone found guilty of an offence under the Poisons Act is liable to a fine of up to $10,000 and/or imprisonment for a term of up to two years, they added.
