Singapore box volumes increase in October

Singapore : The port of Singapore has moved higher container throughput in October both on a year-on-year and month-on-month comparisons, according to data from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Singapore registered volumes of 3.15m teu in October, an increase of 6.4% compared to 2.96m teu seen in the same period of last year, MPA figures showed.

Last month’s throughput also rose by 5.3% compared to 2.99m teu handled in September this year.

In the first 10 months of this year, Singapore recorded a total throughput of 30.45m teu, up 9.8% from 27.73m teu posted in the previous corresponding period.
