SINGAPORE: A total of 21 people were arrested for various immigration offences in a multi-agency joint enforcement operation conducted at Yew Tee Industrial Estate on Sep 17 and Sep 18 2015, said the Singapore Police here the other day.
In a post on Facebook, the police said the operation involved 105 officers from the Jurong Division, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and Singapore Customs.
On top of the arrests, 75 cartons, 343 packets and 157 sticks of assorted brands of duty unpaid cigarettes were also seized.
Investigations are ongoing, said police.
“This multi-agency operation led by the Police is part of ongoing joint enforcement efforts to clamp down on criminal activities,” said Commander of Jurong Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police Wilson Lim. “Police will continue to work closely with other law enforcement agencies to deter illegal activities.”
